The Last Alaskans is an American reality television series. The series premiered on Animal Planet on May 25, 2015. The second season premiered on the Discovery Channel on April 12, 2016. The fourth season premiered on the Discovery Channel on November 25, 2018. The series follows several families and trappers who live in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.

“Though I say so myself it was a rather fine show, well done, tasteful, moderate, visually very attractive, family-oriented and about as authentic as it gets in non-scripted TV. It was a blue-chip show and had a strong following of extremely loyal viewers, who seemed to have really bonded with and taken something meaningful from the series. Many have wondered why it was canceled and if there is any hope of its eventual return. ”

I live in Alaska and this show is the real deal. We love it and look forward to each episode. It's so wonderful to watch a show that is real and shows the difficult but fascinating lives these people live and love. Please renew!
Please do not cancel the the Last Alaskans.. we love this show.. it is so honest and the people are so true… it is one of the few shows our family loves to watch together..we even watch the re-runs..
Please bring back The Last Alaskans. This program shows what wholesome living is and the rewards of hard work. Alaskan Bush People is a disgrace to the Discovery channel which is usually known for its educational shows. I watched it twice and Alaskan Bush People down plays intelligence so much I have no desire to watch it.

We've written off the "Bush People". They're an insult one's intelligence. "Alaska, The Last Frontier" don't watch anymore – it's gotten to be silly and staged – can't tolerate Otto's cursing. "Mountain Men", fair entertainment, still watch. "Life Below Zero", a good show, enjoy it. "The Last Alaskans", the best ever. Look forward to more. Leave it alone. This is a wonderful alternative to all the trash and filth forced upon viewers by the majority of channels.

Please bring back The Last Alaskans! This is the most amazing show. I'm so sick of scripted "reality" shows like Alaskan Bush People, etc. The Last Alaskans is so educational and seeing how people live in the true wilderness and how they survive is so refreshing!
Discovery, you guys have given crappy shows 5x the number of episodes per season and have given so few episodes per season for the Last Alaskans and spaced out the shows and not given them the advertisement for upcoming season premiere. Please give this show a chance and really back it!

I've loved the Discovery Channel and have watched many shows faithfully, but if this show doesn't come back I'm through watching Discovery. People are sick of the scripted, fake shows filled with filth and such bad language that you can't watch as a family. This was one show that is entertaining and educational and the whole family loved it.

The Last Alaskans is the BEST show ever…Very educational on a way of life most of us will never know. I have become so close to people I will never meet, but admire and feel so much a part of their lives. Please bring it back.
Worst possible ďecision. This show gave us the opportunity to go back in time and show us how to implement better ways of living for nature but more importantly a better life for our family. If there are not scandals it seems you deem it unworthy for production.

Hats off to the production company that put this series together.I have tuned in to & watching 2 – two hour episodes of The Last Alaskans: Arctic Refuge right this minute. I am glad to see this most excellent program even if it is pieced together reruns.Don't get me wrong though..,I'm not complaining… but I really, really want a season 5. The best thing I have ever seen on TV in my 64 years. I am not exaggerating. Rest in Peace Bob & God bless these trappers & bold Alaskan frontiersmen that we have had the honor of getting to know through these past four years.And God bless you the film crew & everyone that has been a part of this program. If I were very wealthy I would personally finance bringing the viewers a season 5. ……. Missouri Mike.
Please do not cancel The Last Alaskans. It has been refreshing to watch good clean television. Great reality television. Best show on Discovery! Please don't replace this show with the usual garbage that we see on all the other channels.
Please don't cancel 'The Last Alaskans'. My family enjoys it because it is the only Alaska show that presents more realistic versions of true modern day Alaskan pioneering. Basic living conditions, living in solitude, and true nature dependency with few frills. It's fascinating and the best of the Alaska shows.
Please bring this show back, it is by far the best most real true to life "reality tv" show that exists.

I too am watching the reruns over and over.
The Last Alaskans may have been cancelled due to people protesting the inhumane practice of trapping. While shooting an animal for food is certainly far more humane than factory farming and the food animal industry that currently provides most meat-eaters with animal products, trapping is barbaric, causing extreme pain and extreme stress in these living beings for a protracted period of time. The few who get themselves loose often have chewed off parts of their leg or rip the leg out, suffering and dying later from serious injury. Or they know the ultimate panic and fear of scenting the approach of a wolverine or other predator following the string to rip them apart. Love the people, hate the practice; there is no way to justify providing, purchasing, or wearing animal fur.
