What Is The Last Alaskans About?
The Last Alaskans is an American reality television series. The series premiered on Animal Planet on May 25, 2015. The second season premiered on the Discovery Channel on April 12, 2016. The fourth season premiered on the Discovery Channel on November 25, 2018. The series follows several families and trappers who live in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.

“Though I say so myself it was a rather fine show, well done, tasteful, moderate, visually very attractive, family-oriented and about as authentic as it gets in non-scripted TV. It was a blue-chip show and had a strong following of extremely loyal viewers, who seemed to have really bonded with and taken something meaningful from the series. Many have wondered why it was canceled and if there is any hope of its eventual return. ”

I'm invested in the families – the beautiful scenery – the creative filming – the calming music. There's nothing like it on TV. It touches humanity. Such a gem. Hoping someone picks up this gift of a show.
There is so much crap on TV. How can you justify cancelling the most beautiful and wonderful show there is? The addition of Krin and her family adds a whole new great element to the show. I love Heimo and Edna. Charlie Jagow going it alone like Bob Harte did, and the Seldens with their baby, provide all the interest any show needs. Please, please bring them all back.
It used to be, Discovery showed things that took a modicum of intelligence to comprehend…Like Last Alaskans. Then it went to some old woman screeching to small girls, other asinine shows, and few worth slowing down for when channel surfing.
You have a show that is real, its someplace many of us will never see, it's fact-based and you want to cancel it. Have you lost your pea picking minds?

Discovery started as a channel filled with wildlife programs, universe programs, supernatural programs, now it's just another MTV based crap.

Please bring this show back. We need to know how the Seldon's and their baby are fairing, how Charlie is getting along and how all of them are doing. If you have to remove a show, get rid of the Alaskan Bush People. Please renew this show.
Why would anyone cancel The Last Alaskans? There is so much trash on television and this was the saving grace for all. I loved those characters, those very real characters, and I loved the premise of the show. Please, please renew. Please.

Discovery , I agree with everyone on this, issue bring it back. I was one of the fortunate ones who grew up going out my back door to go hunting from small game to large game. In today's time kids can't do this anymore . This show inspires me to ,as well as my kids what life is about. If you or any other channel reads this please reconsider it. My son Matt and I have been watching all the seasons reruns for 5th time now. We thank all those who have allowed us to have shared their off the grid way of life. Hoping and praying for another season or two.

I can’t believe you would cancel the best reality show on tv. The last Alaskans is the best of all the Alaska shows. Hemo & Edna are the best. Time to find a new favorite channel.

PLEASE RENEW "THE LAST ALASKANS"!!!! All of the families are so genuine and are such good people. The show makes you think about how fortunate you are for what you do have. You get a true sense of history and what people endured to build this country. The hunting has a natural drama as you wish them success. This is one of the only shows that demonstrates real love for ones partner and support between family members and working together. A person can create and live their dream alone or with others. There is so much value to this show and the interest in the families continues. Please renew it! The scenery is gorgeous and the filming and sound is spectacular and soothing. MUST RENEW!!!!!

I just finished watching season, 1.2.and 4. Not sure what happened to season 3. But it was such an interesting show, you can learn a lot by taking time to watch this program. It would be sad if it is not renewed.
Why cancel a reality show that is more reality than any of the rest of them? This is the best show of its kind on any network. Please have the good sense to bring it back for season 5. The lives these people live are not glamorous, hate filled, back-stabbing, vulgar, or sexy. They are filled with love of the outdoors, beautiful scenery, respect for the environment, respect for the animals, and a reliance on their own skills to live. The passing of Bob was very depressing, especially because of how he loved his family and being out in the wild. The addition of Charlie, Krin and her family, and the new addition to the Seldon's show how life carries on. It shows us how real life is, the good and the bad. We need a lot more of this on television. We need more of The Last Alaskans. So do our youngsters. Please bring it Back!!

love this REAL show, please bring back season 5 as my whole family from the 70's to the5yr olds all look forward to it. we miss Bob but the show even showed the truth in death.
