What Is 800 Words About?
George Turner is a popular columnist for a top-selling Sydney newspaper, writing a weekly column which he insists must be exactly 800 words. After his wife dies, he buys (over the internet and unseen) a new home in a (fictional) small New Zealand seaside town called Weld, where his parents took him on holiday as a child. He then has to break the news to his two teenage children, Shay and Arlo. But the colourful and inquisitive locals in Weld ensure Turner’s dream of a fresh start does not go exactly to plan.
On January 24, 2017, the Seven Network announced that the series had been renewed for a third season.It screened from 12 September 2017 with a mid-season finale after eight episodes.
On 17 August 2018 Seven Network cancelled the series after three seasons.

I DO NOT WATCH VERY MUCH TV(CNN NEWS ,WEATHER AND HALLMARK).I AM 72 YRS OLD AND TV VIEWING FOR ME IS VERY LIMITED FOR VARIOUS REASONS(selections are poor)!I CERTAINLY ENJOYED THIS SHORT LIVED SHOW/GOOD TV VIEWING IS FADING RAPIDLY!!!!!!!

This is the best show since Gilmore Girls and I was heartbroken to find out that it wasn’t coming back! We Love the characters and I can’t believe that not one Network would take on this series because we are tired of all these Reality shows since there isn’t much reality to them!

800 words was an excellent show. Good story line and always full of life, love and laughter. I never watch reality shows so you will not have my business to watch your station. Greed is the reason we don't get really go scripted shows anymore and also they have to cater to those that can't understand the real world. It has to be stupid stuff and all the drama that comes with the reality shows. No substance.
Just watched 800 words I last 4 days best tv I have seen for such a long time brilliant actors great stories so sad it’s going to be shelved brings a great big smile to these troubled times
Just finished season 3 of this after binge watching it during the pandemic .. it was so addictive I couldnt switch off .. cant believe its been cancelled .. are they nuts ?? this is the best tv drama / soap Ive seen in years .. please please someone pick it up and start remaking this … You think neighbours was popular here in the UK ? 800 Words is 1000 x better than that !! Your seriously missing a trick here !!
Just watching Season 3 here in Canada. Love the show hoping it will never end. Would love to go to New Zealand and marry George. Such a sweetheart. Reminds me of Robert Redford.
Completely heartbroken this show was cancelled. My husband and I just binged watched all three seasons cannot believe it will not continue. Please someone pick up the show!!!

It Sucks that you are not bringing back 800 Words. You get a good Family Show and you cancle it to put garbage on.
