When Does ‘Ray Donovan’ Season 8 Start on Showtime? Release Date & News
Ray Donovan Season 8
Was Ray Donovan cancelled or renewed for season 8? When does it start on Showtime? Now that season 7 is over, fans are wondering if the show will continue for another season or not. In this post, we have summarized everything we know so far about the next season.
What Is Ray Donovan About?
Ray Donovan, a professional “fixer” for the rich and famous in Los Angeles, can make anyone’s problems disappear except those created by his own family.
Ray Donovan is a “fixer” for Hollywood’s elite. He is the go-to guy that the city’s celebrities, athletes and business moguls call to make their problems disappear. It’s a much more lucrative job than his previous work as a ruthless South Boston thug, vaulting him within reach of the truly wealthy and powerful. But no amount of money or the expensive things it can buy can completely mask Ray’s past, a past that continues to haunt him with troubled brothers always calling and his father’s recent release from 20 years spent in prison. Now a free man, Ray’s father, Mickey, arrives in Los Angeles to get what he feels is rightfully his. Mickey’s desire to reconnect and settle old scores with his family — including Ray’s wife and kids, who have never met the family’s patriarch and are anxious to get to know him — threatens to destroy everything Ray has built for himself.
SHOWTIME has announced a RAY DONOVAN feature-length film continuing Ray’s journey, following the hit drama series’ seven-season run on the network. Star Liev Schreiber will return in his Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) nominated role and co-write the script along with series showrunner David Hollander, who will also serve as director. Golden Globe winner Jon Voight will also reprise his role as Mickey Donovan, as will Kerris Dorsey as Ray’s daughter Bridget. The production is tentatively scheduled to begin filming later this year in New York and will air on SHOWTIME. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine and Jana Winograde, Presidents of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.
The new film picks up where season seven left off, with Mickey in the wind and Ray determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. It will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.
The RAY DONOVAN film is executive produced by David Hollander, Liev Schreiber, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff and Lou Fusaro.

I WATCHED RAY DONOVAN AND AM VERY SAD SEASON 8 IS NOT COMMING ON, ITS NOT RIGHT TO LEAVE US HANGING.
Annyira jó a sorozat, megérné folytatni. Teljesen átéltük minden percét. Köszönöm, hogy hozzászólhattam. Továbbiak is sok sikéres filmet kívánok. (Translation: The series is so good, it would be worth continuing. We fully experienced every minute of it. Thanks for allowing me to comment. I wish you many more successful films.)
I’ll NEVER subscribe to Showtime again. After watching for 7 YEARS, Showtime leaves this series incomplete.
I’ve been waiting for the return of Ray Donavan. I thought it was delayed due to the pandemic and now it’s been completely canceled. Y’all the horrible movies and series that Showtime has recently put on the air and we can’t even get a 2 hour finale episode to finalize things after 8 seasons? I’m so disappointed and angry that Showtime/CBS whomever made this decision didn’t think of the viewers. It’s not like Showtime is free. A very big injustice to Liv, Jon Voight. Other actors and viewers. All the crappy sit coms that CBS changes out year after year. What a shame!
