Series creator and star McKenzie Crook decided to cancel Detectorists after three seasons. There are no plans for Season 4 of the cult British comedy.
The third and final season premiered November 8, 2017 on BBC Four in the UK and January 15, 2018 on Acorn TV in the US.
Detectorists is a comedy series about two friends who go in search of their hearts’ desire with a couple of metal detectors.

Oh I loved it so much , I bought all DVD's of all 3 seasons. ( I do nor understand all, but there are subtitles in german @ Arte TV )

This is Humour at its very best. Brilliantly scripted. Just the right level of pathos. Another series developing the many interesting relationships would be very welcome ????
I cannot believe the story of these 2 amazing characters (Lance and Andy) could be told in 3 seasons. I'm gutted there is no thoughts of a 4th or 5th seasons ahead, the storyline is still left unfinished and it seems very shortsighted by its creator. There's so much more that can be told in this amazing story.
Yet we're left to continue to watch Coronation Street???
