What Is Trauma About?
Trauma Season 1 premiered February 12, 2018 on ITV.
The three-episode first season centres on the lives of two fathers, Dan and Jon, whose lives collide when Dan’s 15-year-old son Alex is stabbed and tragically dies in the trauma department attended by high-achieving consultant Jon Allerton.
In September 2018, John Simm confirmed the cancellation of Trauma after one season. Speaking to Digital Spy, the actor said the story is one-and-done:
“I think Trauma Season 2 would be a no because it would be difficult to revisit. He’s an everyman, an ordinary guy – you can’t have anything else happen to him, as it would be unfair.”
