What Is The Son About?
The Son is an American western drama television series based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Philipp Meyer. The show was created and developed by Meyer, Brian McGreevy, and Lee Shipman. Powerful cattle baron and prospective oilman Eli McCullough, who was kidnapped at the age of 13 by Comanches and grew up to become a ruthless tycoon, struggles to connect with his son as other forces threaten his empire and family in Texas.
Based on Philipp Meyer’s New York Times best-selling and Pulitzer Prize finalist novel of the same name, season two of The Son concludes the journey of the iconic “First Son of Texas.” Eli McCullough’s (Pierce Brosnan) will stop at nothing to secure his legacy against the backdrop of the nascent oil industry of 1917. His tools are deceit, fraud and murder — weapons he wields with the effortless skill of the Comanche warrior he once was. But the biggest challenge he faces will be quelling a civil war under his own roof, triggered by his idealistic son Pete (Henry Garrett). Eli knows the ultimate prize of American dynasty is nearly in his grasp, and time is running out. Meanwhile, in 1851, young Eli (Jacob Lofland) is now married and a respected warrior among the Comanches, but tragedy forces him into a leadership position as the vast Comanche empire crumbles around him. Broadening the scope, a 1988 timeline is introduced, bringing the McCullough saga into the more immediate past. Here, at age 85, Eli’s granddaughter Jeanne Anne McCullough (Lois Smith) is confronted with a long-buried family secret.

You make a series that people enjoy and then you cancel…why do you do this to your viewers? Why even start it if you’re not going to finish it…..what a disappointment. Only thing I really enjoyed watching with my daddy. Yup, we’re from Texas alright…

Me and my boyfriend family as well as mine really love this show I was hoping that there be a season 3 and further beyond that it's a shame that it was canceled and no other affiliation has chosen to pick it up it's a shame

I am so tired of these streaming platforms that start a show and do not complete them. They get you hooked for nothing no ending. I’m about done watching anything that is a series anymore and since the pandemic they can’t do more than eight or 10 episodes I called BS.! Enough is enough!!! Don’t start something you can’t finish!!!
