What Is The Expanse About?
The Expanse Season 3 released April 11, 2018 on Syfy. The cabler cancelled the space drama after three seasons in May 2018, however Amazon revived the show weeks later, with Season 4 to stream in 2019.
Hundreds of years in the future, humans have colonized the solar system. The U.N. controls Earth. Mars is an independent military power. The planets rely on the resources of the Asteroid Belt, where air and water are more precious than gold. For decades, tensions have been rising between these three places. Earth, Mars and the Belt are now on the brink of war. And all it will take is a single spark.
Critics have praised the show for its visuals, character development and political narrative. It received a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation and three Saturn Award nominations for Best Science Fiction Television Series. Alcon Entertainment produces and finances the series. It sold three seasons to Syfy, which canceled the series in May 2018. Amazon Prime Video picked up a fourth season, which is set to premiere on December 13, 2019. On July 27, Amazon renewed The Expanse for a fifth season.
