What Is The Curse of Oak Island About?
Oak Island is a tree-covered island on the south shore of Nova Scotia that has intrigued treasure hunters for more than 200 years. It is believed that the island is hiding one of the greatest treasures of all time, but no one has been able to find it. Enter Rick and Marty Lagina, brothers from Michigan who have bought the rights to much of the island to try to solve the mystery. The two use modern technology and good old American know-how to look for the treasure. But it won't be easy as the search is expensive and dangerous -- several people have died trying to strike it rich on Oak Island, inspiring the titular curse. The Laginas hope to avoid the curse long enough to find the treasure before they run out of money... or worse.

Not even the coronavirus can slow down Rick and Marty Lagina in their treasure hunt off the Nova Scotia coast. Rick, Marty and the Oak Island team are back for the biggest season yet – bringing with them more determination, resources and technology than ever in their quest to solve the 224-year old treasure mystery. After seismic testing conducted at the end of last season revealed a possible sunken ship buried in the triangle-shaped swamp, the team will use sonic core drilling, strategic dives and finally a historic big dig to find out what could be buried below. Now fully partnered with fellow land owner, Tom Nolan, the son of the late, Fred Nolan, Rick, Marty and Craig Tester will have unprecedented access to areas of the island that they hope will yield answers… and treasure. #OakIsland

I really enjoy this show. It's truly the one thing my husband and I bond with. We call it date night, I call my kids and talk to my grandchildren and tell for the next hour we're on a date and don't bother us. I get some kind of take out so we don't have to stop to do dishes. I love everyone on the show. I pray everyone will be safe and they find treasure. Can't wait for season 9. Please make it happen. ???? it's so wonderful to watch a show with no violence,nudity, or cursing. Thank you for all the wonderful seasons you have given me. Please renew this show, I’m addicted to It. I was introduced to the show in season 7 and I got caught up in three days. I hardly slept waiting to see what was next.
I understand that this program costs a lot of money, but you got so many viewers hooked it would be a shame to leave us hanging Covid-19 is on a down turn in NS so things should be easing up this year enough to allow a normal season of treasure hunting the French were in this area in in the early 1500's as Jacques Cartier stopped at Gaspe and claimed the land for France so it is certainly possible the French were on the island at some time or other , Learning more about the history of my country is very interesting, but i am anxious to see if any monetary treasure is to be found , Please Renew if at all possible
Please renew this program. I've watched every year since they started and feel like I've come to know everyone on the program. I love history and they have uncovered a lot of history on Oak Island. I continue to pray for everyone's safety on the program. I feel they are very close to the jackpot. Again Please renew cause you will have MANY upset people!!!!

I can’t believe that the history channel would let the curse of oak island go, there are way too many people who are crazy about this show and can’t wait for each new episode. I was upset because it wasn’t on Tuesday night it’s my favorite show and can’t wait from week to week to watch it, I am already trying to find season 9 so what’s wrong with the history channel, my house for one will not watch your show again!!
You have to go with season 9. To good of a history show not to. I believe they are so close and the history alone is most interesting Do it !!!!

I love the show. It is so interesting. I like what they find and the story's. It is a wonderful and awesome show. I want it back like yesterday.
Like a previous poster said. After watching for eight seasons and now when it is getting more interesting, if they cancel I also will be cancelling the history station and notifying the sponsors.
I love Curse of Oak Island. My husband and I record it if we cannot watch. Renew it!
Broke my back 3x times in the last 7 years, with all the surgeries I could not get up to Oak Island, to look around, yes.. To say I was there, yes.. but most importantly giving all of us something the last 5-6 years to look forward to, to allow us to relax and put off life for a couple of hours. If I had it to give I would bankroll whatever they wanted and needed… Good Luck, Ron.
The Curse of Oak Island is the best show on the History channel! It would be a travesty to cancel it.

Normally I do not watch reality tv, but several years ago (5?), I watched one show and I was hooked. I have been watching ever since. I sincerely hope History renews for Season 9. If possible, I would be there digging down with them!

November 2nd 2021. Release date has been announced. And they find what looks to be a tunnel on Samuel Ball's property!!!
Glad it was renewed. One of the few weekly TV shows my wife and I look forward to. Most TV these days is regurgitated garbage. This show is unique, original and interesting. These guys could indeed change our understaning of North American history where I suspect there’s lots more to learn.
I truly enjoy the show, the cast, the researchers, the research. I have the same antispitation when they dig, or take the metal detector out. I like learning about the people who were fortunate to have lived on the island also. I wish that the brothers and all will continue to film, one way or another of their continued efforts. I support them. I wish them the best and I believe that they will find the big reveal very soon. Truly love everything about the Curse of Oak Island tv show. Thank you for sharing
I enjoy the Curse of Oak Island but it annoys me that the UK has to wait until March to see it.
