Rick and Marty Lagina, two brothers from Michigan with a life-long interest in the mystery of Oak Island, renew efforts to discover the legendary treasure with sophisticated machinery.
Not even the coronavirus can slow down Rick and Marty Lagina in their treasure hunt off the Nova Scotia coast. For Season 8, the brothers were “forced to rethink this year’s entire search strategy,” creator Kevin Burns says. Rick, Marty and the Oak Island team are back for the biggest season yet – bringing with them more determination, resources and technology than ever in their quest to solve the 224-year old treasure mystery. After seismic testing conducted at the end of last season revealed a possible sunken ship buried in the triangle-shaped swamp, the team will use sonic core drilling, strategic dives and finally a historic big dig to find out what could be buried below. Now fully partnered with fellow land owner, Tom Nolan, the son of the late, Fred Nolan, Rick, Marty and Craig Tester will have unprecedented access to areas of the island that they hope will yield answers… and treasure. #OakIsland

We have been watching from the start. This is getting to dragged out. Will they find something before I die?? What will happen first?? Hillary getting locked up or finding gold on oak island? I am getting almost tired from waiting. Every week we are back to the war room because they found a nail.
LOL Lynn you are right! They have all these big leads and then nothing every materializes! But, I can't stop watching…
The history that comes from the search and the science they use is educational and intriguing. Praying for a renewal.

What happened to season 7 episode 14?
Definitely gonna start losing the audience – I’m the only one I know that hasn’t quit in my family. Also, if you take out the commercials and the repeated, repeated same things, the entire season would be less than a 2 hour show. I figured out that there is less than 15 minutes of anything of value in any week. With that coring rig and all the years using it, they could have cored every inch of the island down to 200 feet. And why not just excavate that whole area down to 200 feet if needed. They are going to have to do that anyway.
I LOVE this show! Each week I am so excited to see the next show! I truely want them to succeed and find the treasure or in the very least unravel the mystery of what happened on the island. That being said…..when it happens the joy of witnessing thier success will be accompanied by sadness of it reaching a conclusion. Prayers, best wishes, and many a thank you to all the Oak Island Family for allowing average people, such as myself, to take part in this wonderful journey. It has been a wonderful experience for want to be treasure hunters like myself which otherwise would not have such an opportunity. THANK YOU ALL!!!
I really like this show been watching many years ,every pieces is new and historycal even nail if they find is also treasure,every week im waiting when next comes.:D,im also watching travel channel snake island treasure this is awsome tho ,basicaly all historycal and treasure i love,adventures is cool.:D,thank zou history channel to let see me,supertiton gold was also my favorite but the end didnt see it sadly and hard to see it at the end episodes some where else.:O

I agree with John ,drilling a big can down, and smashing any evidence of something valuable enough to bury 200 feet below seems like overkill , excavation with modern equipment and document it. seems they have there is proof something did happen there.
I've always enjoyed watching "the curse of Oak Island", but after seeing the series for the umpteenthbtime it is starting to bother even those fans with een npy half a Braun. Please Star storing season 8 OR start to reasurch another curse.
It seems like the producers and investors know we are getting anxious. They threw a lot of money at this season without much to show for it. Let's see something big to cliff hang us until next season.

Oak Island and Outlander are the only shows We watch. Oak Island to us is very interesting and cant wait for it to come on hope you keep it on.
Never, never, never stop this show! It sucked me in from the first show! I watch everyone! Then I go back and watch them again! Love them and my husband loves them! We are history lovers and the bits of history thrown in just makes it great! To me the treasure is just second to the history and the interaction between the people on the show!

My brother Donnie and I had been following this since 1961. Captain Kidds treasure was believed to be there. Of course Kidds treasure was believed to be buried around the world.
Mr brother Donnie is gone now and I still follow the show but I think it is time to move on with the excavation and viewing. Let's find another island, perhaps Grand Manan in the Bay of Fundy (nearby)
You really can’t take us along for the ride this long, and not finish it. The only way out is for Rick and Marty to call it quits, and they didn’t appear to be bailing at the last episode.
I am tired of the endless commercials and out takes from previous shows. Mostly the commercials though. I think I’m done ????
You and I know it got to have a finish It time I’m and others like it not to be a Burn out show like to see because a happy ending but at this time there’s no dresser and have my attention for the last 10 years to
Nothing is more aggravating to me is listening to the Fool announcer repeating something so trivial and making it sound so dramatic. An example would be "HE FOUND A BUTTON"!
Also, did you ever notice how much that Putz Gary Drayton sounds like Ringo Starr?

On You Tube Marty Lagina is interviewed and will not answer some audience questions as there is a secrecy contract. It is about an hour. Die hard Oak Island watchers should find it interesting. I have said I am tired of the same old same old with a little teaser to keep you coming back. Formula writing. I expect there will be on the season finale….a CLIFFHANGER …to the next season.
I really like the show and hope it will continue! I also hope Season 8 will be the last since they will found something major.
But what worries me besides show cancelation is this whole coronavirus situation.
Will they be able to dig nowdays ?
Will the members of the team survive the pandemic ? Will they have money to do any work now when their business inUS are shut down and loosing money ?
Hope it will all come around best way possible and we will see them finding a treasure !

I am from N.S. and have known about this since childhood. I hope to GOD you DO NOT cancel this program. We have been with these gentlemen since it started and I as well as my family want to see it to the end. IT is OUR HISTORY!! Lets find out what these persistent guys can find and solve this!! We have friends from USA who are now into the program as well.
Please give The Curse of Oak Island one more season!! Just because they may find something significant in season 7 – there are a LOT of people out there that are watching for the history! We still want to know all about what they find, who put it there and why did they sink it 200ft deep on an island? There is still a LOT more for us to see and hear!!! Please keep going to finish this out!
