The Curse of Oak Island Season 8 on History; Renewed or Cancelled?
The Curse of Oak Island Season 8
Was The Curse of Oak Island cancelled or renewed for season 8? When does it start on History? Who will be returning for the new season? In this post, we have summarized everything we know so far about the next season.
What Is The Curse of Oak Island About?
Rick and Marty Lagina, two brothers from Michigan with a life-long interest in the mystery of Oak Island, renew efforts to discover the legendary treasure with sophisticated machinery.
Not even the coronavirus can slow down Rick and Marty Lagina in their treasure hunt off the Nova Scotia coast. For Season 8, the brothers were “forced to rethink this year’s entire search strategy,” creator Kevin Burns says. The result: “More incredible finds, and more revelations about Oak Island’s mysterious history, than ever.” Nov. 10, 9/8c, History
Rick, Marty and the Oak Island team are back for the biggest season yet – bringing with them more determination, resources and technology than ever in their quest to solve the 224-year old treasure mystery. After seismic testing conducted at the end of last season revealed a possible sunken ship buried in the triangle-shaped swamp, the team will use sonic core drilling, strategic dives and finally a historic big dig to find out what could be buried below. Now fully partnered with fellow land owner, Tom Nolan, the son of the late, Fred Nolan, Rick, Marty and Craig Tester will have unprecedented access to areas of the island that they hope will yield answers… and treasure. #OakIsland

My family loves the Show. But it has gotten too chopped-up, dragged-out and slow..With so much modern technology, we are disappointed in their progress…Please RENEW a final year of OAK ISLAND..
Please don't cancel show..
1st of al I love this show. It has opened my eyes to an amazing amount of history so please keep going and find what you started to. My 2 cents is build a steel ring like a petroleum storage tank just put one ring together at a time and drive it down as you excavate the shear weight of the steel should be enough to drive it down as you do the Big Dig… thanks for the historical lessons I have gained
I sincerely hope the show continues for another season. It is the only "must see" show for me on television. However, if I were an investor in the search, I don't know that I would continue. This show is one of the few that really enlightens our knowlege of history on the History Channel.
I say the Team has done more than anyone before, I feel they must be close to finding somethings real good, like Gold Coins or a treasure chest full of gold. My wife and i have been watching from the beginning, so keep it going History channel.
I am watching the last show of the season in April, 2020. Each show is a test of my patience, I so want them to find something wonderful each time, and they always find a peice of history that brings me back every time. I hope the Pandemic does not cause a loss of money or fear of illness that causes a cancellation of the show.
I will never watch history channel again if you cancel this show . It is absolutely fantastic. Find the money and continue.
If it takes 10s of millions to excavate, will you ever get that back if you find something? How much goes to the local Govt. how much to pay all your expenses. Id like to see something recovered, but cut your loses and enjoy the rest of your life with what money you have left. Donate some to charity. Not worth it in my opinion
It is an awesome show, i do hope you don't cancel it. It has a lot of history for all ages and an excellent job Thank You
I feel like part of the family. Keep it going. Maybe they could bring Todd from Gold Rush in for a consult. Now that would be funny…….
As I look at the last episode and see the findings laid on a time chart, in particular the Templar connection. I in my opinion think they brought the Ark of the Covenant to the island. Why else would it be so deep and so booby trapped. It all reads technological expertise and this has all the markings of Templar. There are in my opinion other explorers and pirates that are separate from the templar connection that have left their mark on the island that have left treasure in separate areas and may be gone.
Is there a new way to explore, like using a NASA Satellite maybe and what about a joint funding effort from Canadian government.
I know it would be buzz kill to a lot of Curse fans but the show owes the viewing public the alternative explaintions to the mystery of the treasure. There are several of those posted on You Tube.
I love the show anyway but this past season seen to drag. Also , who is paying the tab for the search? Who gets what if treasure is found?
Everyone enjoys a good "who done it". Uncovering the history and the story is every bit as interesting as any treasure they may discover. The repetitive nature of the narrator is a bit tedious to be sure. But the resilience of the explorers not to give up, keeps us hanging on for the next big find. Seems people either love the show or hate it. But in our house, we spend every week anticipating the next new show. Every off season is tough… Please keep it going.
I love this show; but, I wish they would find something of value already. The only person who finds anything real is Gary who puts the 'booty' in his top pocket for further investigation with the rest of the crew. As I said I love this show and will continue watching until they find that TREASURE!!
Watched this show from the first ever episode.. Simply the best program on TV.. Don't you dare cancel it history channell
To the brother hood,
I first learned about oak island as kid, listening to my dad and his friends talking about the treasure, and the curse,
About the lives lost, about Dan Blankenship, the cavern he found, almost losing his life in the process!
I was hooked, that was over 50 yrs ago!
Who should pay for this, the history channel, with the commercial airtime,
It’s one of the most watched programme on tv,
This isn’t some brain dead Jim Carrie , movie, this History, Nova Scotia history
With what is at stake, the possibility of changing world history, you cannot stop now!
They didn’t give up , looking for king tut, and they are still looking for more, trying to answer the questions, telling the story!
It’s not just one treasure, that’s why it’s so confusing,
the Templars ,
Part of Spanish treasurer fleet of 1613,the two ships that have never been found, guess why they were never found ,they’re on oak island.
The treasure that Samuel bauld found was left by captain James Anderson,
The story needs to be told !!!
The continuation of this series should go forward. There is so much history that has been uncovered and kudos to Rick and Marty and their partners for sharing this amazing journey.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE renew this series.
Haven't missed an episode. Granted some are down right slow but that gives me, without the cost, a taste of what the boys are faced with each time the island gets the better of them. You don't always win, and that is what makes this show so exciting. You sense the highs and lows yourself. Waiting until November 2021 is going to be tough to say the least. There isn't much else worth watching on TV especially during the winter months.
As part of French audience. I would like to point the great value of the show and the historical aspect of it.
Please renew for 01 more year at least ….. Till the conclusion of it … The treasure s discovery.
There are some people you could listen to all day. Rick and Marty from this program, Josh Gates and Travis from Skin Walker Ranch all hold you captive. This from a person not easily entertained. Family entertainment many people search for without political rhetoric.. America is tired of social and political rhetoric in 2020. .
I liken this show to Lucy pulling the football when Charlie Brown goes to kick it. You think, maybe this time, she won't pull the ball and we'll actually see something worthwhile, but Lucy is ever faithful and will pull the football at the last moment. YET, the intrigue is there to watch again because MAYBE she won't pull the football and we'll see some actual treasure. I suppose I'm as stupid as Charlie Brown because I keep coming back to see it and well…maybe next time…
This show is so fake, I can’t even believe it is still on, they are making like there is hidden treasures, please take off the air and put something worth watching
I stopped watching after 1 season because I knew they would NEVER find anything
The show is great and should continue. They do have to weed out a couple of the cast that offer little or know value though. I am more interested in history then ever before and who can’t love a treasure hunt.
My one beef is each time they find a little trinket or sliver of wood they stop everything and call one of the brothers. It wastes time and is way to predicable.
i like the project but cant stand the narration and how 4 minutes of show is dragged into 30
