What Is The Continental About?

"The Continental" will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, the centerpiece of the John Wick universe, through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he'd left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the New York's mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world's most dangerous criminals.

The Continental is a chain of hotels located all around the world that function as a neutral territory for members of the criminal underworld. They are frequented by many hitmen and notorious murderers.
Peter Greene has been cast in the role of “Uncle Charlie;” Ayomide Adegun has been cast in the role of “Charon;” Jeremy Bobb has been cast in the role of “Mayhew.” Headshots and bios for all can be found here.

They join previously announced cast members Colin Woodell as the series lead “Winston Scott” the younger version of the iconic character from the John Wick film franchise, whose origin story is told through the event series; Hubert Point-Du Jour as “Miles,” Jessica Allain as “Lou,” Mishel Prada as “KD,” Nhung Kate as “Yen,” Mel Gibson as “Cormac,” and Ben Robson as “Frankie.”

Executive Producers Greg Coolidge (“Wayne,” Ride Along) and Kirk Ward (“The Turkey Bowl,” “Wayne”) will write the event series and serve as showrunners. Executive Producer Albert Hughes (“The Good Lord Bird,” The Book of Eli) will direct the first and third episodes while executive producing all three. Charlotte Brändström (“The Lord of the Rings,” “The Witcher”) will direct the second episode. Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger will also serve as executive producers.

Drawing upon the collaborative efforts of Lionsgate’s film, television and Starz platforms, “The Continental” continues the growth of a franchise that has already generated three hit films that have grossed over $600 million at the worldwide box office and a successful virtual reality mobile game. John Wick: Chapter Four is currently shooting in Germany, France and Japan.
