What Is Survivor About?

The Emmy Award-winning series returned fall 2017 for its 35th season (September 27, 2017), themed “Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.” It featured 18 castaways, divided into three groups of six based on how they are perceived by others. Heroes were used to being heralded, healers received gratitude for their work and hustlers must earn respect. These castaways were forced to compete against each other with the same ultimate goal: to outwit, outplay and outlast each other in an attempt to become the Sole Survivor. The show returned to the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji, hosted by Emmy Award winner Jeff Probst.
