What Is Quiz (TV Series) About?
Quiz tells the story of Charles Ingram, a former British army major, who caused a major scandal after being caught cheating his way to winning £1 million on the game show ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’
Quiz is an TV drama series, which was written by James Graham and directed by Stephen Frears. It is based on Graham’s play of the same name, and the book Bad Show: the Quiz, the Cough, the Millionaire Major by Bob Woffinden and James Plaskett. The show is centered on the true story of Charles Ingram and the coughing scandal that surrounded his 2001 win of £1,000,000 on the UK version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, starring Michael Sheen in the role of Chris Tarrant who hosted the show when the incident happened. The show was shown on ITV from 13-15 April 2020, and ran for 3 episodes on consecutive days.
