What Is Percy Jackson and the Olympians About?

Author Rick Riordan announced the development of an adaptation of his book franchise, Percy Jackson. He will be acting as a writer, and both he, and his wife, will be involved in every aspect of the shows creation. The series is confirmed to last for five seasons, with each season serving as an adaptation of a book in the series.

Based on the novels by Rick Riordan, this series follows a young demigod named Percy Jackson and his friends from Camp Half-Blood as they go on quests to save the world from Kronos’s army.

Disney+ has ordered “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” an epic adventure series based on – and closely aligned with – Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series by award-winning author Rick Riordan with more than 180 million books in print globally. Riordan and Jon Steinberg (“Black Sails,” FX’s upcoming “The Old Man”) will write the pilot with James Bobin (“The Mysterious Benedict Society,” “Dora and the Lost City of Gold”) directing. Steinberg will oversee the series with his producing partner Dan Shotz. Steinberg and Shotz serve as executive producers alongside Bobin, Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldberg. The Disney Branded Television series is produced by 20th Television. Casting is underway.
