Peacock and UNINTERRUPTED released more details today around the Original docuseries, Golden: The Journey of USA’s Elite Gymnasts adding to Peacock’s robust library of countdown to Tokyo programming. The series will take fans behind the scenes as Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez, Morgan Hurd, Sunisa Lee, Konnor McClain, and MyKayla Skinner compete for the four coveted Team USA roster spots. The six-episode series documents the athletes’ personal accomplishments, struggles, and sacrifices, commentary from current and former Olympic athletes, parents, coaches, and industry experts on what it takes to compete at the highest level, and milestone events including the National Team training camp and Olympic qualifying competition. Following the USA Gymnastic Trials competition, the first three episodes of the series premiere on June 27, with new episodes dropping weekly on July 7, July 14, and July 21.

“All of the athletes competing this summer have shown a tremendous amount of perseverance, resilience and strength throughout their athletic careers and especially over this unexpected last year,” said Li Li Leung, President & Chief Executive Officer, USA Gymnastics. “We are heartened and delighted that this project will share the unique stories, perspectives and voices of some of these incredible individuals with a broader audience.”
