BBC AMERICA is set to premiere the highly-anticipated natural history series, Planet Earth III, on Saturday, November 4th, at 8 pm ET/PT. The series will also be available on AMC+ on the same day. Alongside this exciting news, the network has unveiled a brand-new official trailer for the show.

Executive produced by Emmy(R) Award-winner Mike Gunton, known for his work on Planet Earth II and Dynasties II, and series-produced by Emmy(R) Award-nominee Matt Brandon, recognized for Cities: Nature’s New Wild, the series will be hosted by the legendary naturalist and three-time Emmy(R) Award-winner Sir David Attenborough, celebrated for his contributions to Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II, and Frozen Planet II. Planet Earth III is set to be an eight-episode groundbreaking cinematic journey.

Seven years have passed since the Emmy(R) and BAFTA(R) Award-winning Planet Earth II, and now, Planet Earth III will take audiences on a mesmerizing exploration of our planet’s continents, unveiling its wonders. This captivating series will offer viewers unprecedented insights into animal behavior and delve into the stories of animal characters, showcasing the new challenges wildlife faces in our modern and crowded world. Furthermore, the series will emphasize the growing urgency to conserve and restore nature. The final episode will introduce viewers to courageous individuals worldwide who risk their lives to protect the planet’s wildlife and critical ecosystems.

The musical score for Planet Earth III is a collaboration between renowned composers Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea, Sara Barone, and Bastille’s Dan Smith. Dan Smith’s vocals will grace the opening title theme song and will be featured throughout all episodes of the series. Additionally, the series will include a reworked version of Bastille’s hit single “Pompeii,” entitled “Pompeii MMXXIII,” in its end credits.

Planet Earth III is a co-production between BBC Studios Natural History Production, BBC AMERICA, ZDF, and France Televisions, in partnership with The Open University for BBC. Mike Gunton serves as the executive producer, with Matt Brandon as the series producer. Global distribution is being handled by BBC Studios.
