What Is Barkskins About?
Based on the novel by Pulitzer-winner Annie Proulx, BARKSKINS follows a disparate group of outcasts who must navigate brutal hardships, competing interests, and tangled loyalties at the crossroads of civilization- late 1600s New France.
This eight-part adaptation of Annie Proulx’s novel about a conflict between French and English settlers in a small 1690s settlement in forested territory that is now Quebec stars David Thewlis and Marcia Gay Harden. Two episodes air back-to-back tonight and on each of the next three Mondays.

This adaptation of Annie Proulx's gigantic novel is not to be missed. The novel covers about three hundred years of exploration and exploitation. The first season of Barkskins is still in the 1600s with a cliffhanger of an ending. How could this extraordinary historical saga not be renewed for another season? That would be outrageous!
I agree! Please do renew Barkskins! This is one of the best historical dramas I've seen, although I haven't read the novel. I am binge-watching the first season again, and so want this to go on! Please please please renew it for another season!
Love, Love, Love Barkskins! Patiently waiting for it to be renewed. Wonderful to watch something from history that must have been the way it was. Please bring it back for another season plus!!!
I hope Barkskins comes back! I found it by accident. No announcement that it even existed. If more people knew about this intense series more would watch it. Plus it ended where there must be a second season and 3rd, 4th or more!

Are you serious! When the Kardashians can air crap for untold seasons, and you offered us an amazing story and then question whether or not to renew, where can you brains be! ?Give us more good writing and continue the series!
Barkskins was amazing. Seriously with all the crap programs that get renewed. How could you not continue with this awesome program. Best television I've seen in sometime.

Barkskins is a geat show and should be renewed. With the garbage on TV these days, Barkskins is a breath of fresher & quality.
Please National Geographic renew the TV show Barkskins for at least a 2nd & 3rd seasons to answer the many questions & fill in the plot lines the show started on. How on earth can terrible crap shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians continued to get renewed & play on year after year with their mindless & ridiculous stories!! Kim loses a $75,000 pair of earrings while swimming in the ocean while on vacation & throws a fit. Who really cares & who is actually swimming in the ocean wearing $75,000 diamond earrings??? All the Kardashians became rich because of social media & Kim somehow managed to become a billionaire, so $75K is like $20 to we average Americans. Anyway, please renew this incredible TV series Barkskins from National Geographic or at least some other network should pick it up so they can continue on with the incredible story.
