What Is The Birch About?

A teenager seeks out the help of a monster who lives in the woods. Based on the short film 'The Birch'.

The Birch, formerly known as Lanie Bouchard, is the titular character and anti-hero of the Crypt TV short film and Facebook Watch series of the same name. She is considered to be Crypt TV’s most popular monster. A teen mother devastated over the murder of her infant daughter by her adoptive parents, Lanie transformed into a tree demon.

After critical success of the original short film, The Birch to have 15 episodes of her own series on the Facebook page of Crypt TV. On June 24, 2020, Crypt TV confirmed that the series would be getting a second season.

She is portrayed by Dee Sherwood Wallace in the short film and Brady Romberg in the Facebook Watch series. Midori Francis portrays Lanie Bouchard.
