iCarly Season 9

Was iCarly cancelled or renewed for season 9? When does it start on Paramount+? Now that season 8 is over, fans are wondering if the show will continue for another season or not. In this post, we have summarized everything we know so far about the next season.

What Is iCarly About?

In Nickelodeon’s original iCarly series, which aired from 2007-12, followed a group of best friends creating a webcast while grappling with everyday problems and adventures. Then-regulars Jennette McCurdy and Noah Munck are not part of the revival. During its original run, iCarly became a pop-culture staple and regularly broke viewership records among audiences of all ages.

Season three will go into production later this year and will premiere in 2023 exclusively on Paramount+ around the world.

iCarly was revived on Paramount+ with a 13-episode season 9 years after Nickelodeon’s original show ended. Carly Shay (Cosgrove), the original influencer, and her friends now are navigating work, love and family in their 20s. Original stars Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress are back to reprise their as respective roles as Spencer Shay and Freddie Benson, and the redux adds two new cast members: Laci Mosley as Harper, Carly’s roommate and best friend, and Jaidyn Triplett as Millicent, Freddie’s snarky and social media-savvy stepdaughter.

Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, announced that its new hit series, iCARLY, has been renewed for a second season in all markets the service is available, including the U.S., Australia, Canada, Latin America and the Nordics. Produced by Nickelodeon Studios, the new iCARLY series premiered in June on Paramount+ and quickly became one of the streaming service’s top acquisition drivers, ranking among Paramount+’s most-streamed titles since the series’ debut. Production on the second season will begin in Los Angeles this fall.

iCARLY on Paramount+ picks up nearly 10 years after the beloved original Nickelodeon show ended, finding Carly Shay, the original influencer, and her friends navigating work, love and family now as adults. The series stars Miranda Cosgrove as Carly, Jerry Trainor as Spencer, Nathan Kress as Freddie, Laci Mosley as Harper and Jaidyn Triplett as Millicent. New episodes of the 13-episode first season drop on Thursdays exclusively for Paramount+ subscribers.

The new iCARLY series is executive produced by Ali Schouten and Miranda Cosgrove, with Schouten also serving as showrunner. Jerry Trainor and Alissa Vradenburg serve as producers. iCARLY was created by Dan Schneider. The original series ran from 2007-2012 on Nickelodeon.

Production of the new iCARLY series for Nickelodeon Studios is overseen by Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, Co-Heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action. Brian Banks serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for the series.
