What Is The South Westerlies About?
Little lies lead to bigger truths in this charming Irish dramedy. Environmental consultant Kate Ryan (Orla Brady, Fringe) goes undercover in a small town to quell objections to a wind farm. But Kate has a complicated history with Carrigeen. Soon after arriving with her son, she runs into an ex-friend and an old flame and realizes her task won't be a breeze. Co-stars Patrick Bergin (Patriot Games).
When a town in the south west of Ireland is earmarked for a Norwegian-owned offshore wind farm, it’s not just the scenery that’s under pressure. For Kate Ryan, tasked by her company NorskVentus, to go undercover and quash local objections, her eco-battle is compounded by the presence of a crinkly-eyed surfer with an unmistakable resemblance to her son. Kate tries to change hearts and minds by pushing the economic benefits of wind energy, but when she discovers there’s an oil pipeline planned for the same area, she starts to box smarter and dirtier. Her son’s discovery about his surfer dad and her eventual outing to the entire town, cause Kate to consider turning whistleblower, until she’s given a final ultimatum.
When a small coastal town in the south-west of Ireland is earmarked for a Norwegian-owned wind farm, it’s not just the spectacular scenery that’s under pressure.
The last episode of the series was released on October 11, 2020 in the US.

A season 2 I believe would be welcomed by many. I became very engrossed in the story line and cast. I hope it has been decided to go foreword.
Such a well-written and engaging story with wonderfully real characters — PLEASE keep lobbying for a second season of this multi-layered and delightful series. — Many fans in Canada and no doubt in the US if 'The South Westerlies' is available tehre too.

Why? This is a wonderful show, amazing story line and fabulous actors, so why not renew it for season 2? Puzzling for sure.
Please make a season 2. One of my favourite shows. If there weren't enough viewers, I'm sure that fans of the show will spread the word. Once seen, who can resist wanting more?
I love this show. It's got similarities to the Doc Martin series: beautiful coastal scenery, village life, drama, humour, great ast etc and look how incredibly successful Doc Martin has been. Would make sense to build on this with a second series.

I really enjoyed this program I hope that there will be a season 2. I've enjoyed many other series such as 800 words. I wish I could tell them to please give us more seasons. I'm from the United States but I love programs from the UK and Australia.
