What Is Ms. Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries About?
In this spin-off to the wildly popular Australian mystery series, Phryne Fisher’s long-lost niece, Peregrine (Geraldine Hakewill, Wanted), decides to follow in her stylish footsteps as a lady detective for a new era. With the help of the handsome, straitlaced Detective James Steed (Joel Jackson, Peter Allen) and a group of accomplished women, Peregrine investigates murders in 1960s Melbourne.
Acorn TV has acquired exclusive North American rights to two new spinoff titles of hit Australian period series “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries.” The feature film “Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears” and spinoff series “Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries”. Set in the 1960s, “Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries” stars Geraldine Hakewill as the niece of Davis’ character. When the aunt she never knew goes missing in New Guinea, the reckless Peregrine Fisher (Hakewill) inherits a windfall and sets out to become a world-class private detective with the guidance of The Adventuresses’ Club, a group of exceptional women that her aunt belonged to. Joel Jackson and Catherine McClements co-star.
The last episode of the series was released on March 14, 2019 in the US.
