Lucy Lawless (Spartacus, Xena: Warrior Princess) reprises her popular role as irrepressible investigator Alexa Crowe in her hometown of Auckland, New Zealand with ten new cases that pit her against fascinating, powerful and surprising suspects each week - everyone from eccentric billionaires to grieving florists, and from tango dancers to fiery fashionistas. The only thing they have in common is that none of them are expecting Alexa's unique brand of crime solving, but they quickly learn that you underestimate Alexa Crowe at your own risk.

# Season 5 Renewal Update

Acorn TV has commissioned fan-favorite mystery drama My Life Is Murder for a fifth season, set to return later this year. Starring Lucy Lawless (Spartacus, Xena: Warrior Princess) as the fearless and unapologetic investigator Alexa Crowe, each season sees her solving puzzling cases in Auckland, New Zealand with a little help from her witty friends.

Season 5 sees eight thrilling new cases featuring dangerous villains that only Alexa Crowe (Lawless) can catch, but as always, she’s bringing her friends and family along for the ride. Tech guru Madison (Ebony Vagulans, The Furies) is stepping up and contributing her considerable technical skills to the investigations, while cafe owner Reuben (Joe Naufahu, Game of Thrones) is always there to lend a helping hand, and, shockingly, it turns out that Detective Harry (Rawiri Jobe, Shortland Street) has been hiding a rather big secret. Moreover, just to complicate things, Alexa’s bad boy brother Will (Martin Henderson, Virgin River) drops by with a dilemma of his own. Additionally, in the series’ highest-stakes episode to date, Alexa’s beloved cat Chowder is caught up in a risky game of cat-and-mouse!

Joining the cast this season as guest stars are Oscar(R) nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider, Game of Thrones, FBI: Most Wanted) and Rhys Darby (Jumanji: The Next Level, Flight of the Conchords, Our Flag Means Death).
