Mountain Monsters Season 9 Release Date 2025, Cancelled or Renewed on TRVL?
Mountain Monsters Season 9
Was Mountain Monsters cancelled or renewed for season 9? When does it start on TRVL Channel? Now that season 8 is over, fans are wondering if the show will continue for another season or not. In this post, we have summarized everything we know so far about the next season.
What Is Mountain Monsters About?
There are creatures both legendary and unidentified roaming the Appalachian Mountains, and a band of hard-core hunters and trappers have made it their life’s work to investigate them. For generations, supposed sightings of these monsters — with such names as Wolfman, Devil Dog, Wampus Beast, Mothman and Lizard Demon — have occurred along the 1,500-mile stretch of mountains, and it wasn’t until the members of the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings had their own personal encounters with these creatures that they became believers. Now, the AIMS crew, led by founders “Trapper” John Tice, Jeff Headlee and Willy McQuillian, use both traditional techniques and modern technology to track, trap and capture these monsters. Maybe AIMS will snag its first one while cameras are filming “Mountain Monsters”!
ONE LAST HOORAH FOR TRAPPER!
THE APPALACHIAN INVESTIGATORS OF MYSTERIOUS SIGHTINGS TEAM HONORS THEIR BELOVED LEADER JOHN ‘TRAPPER’ TICE IN NEW ONE-HOUR SPECIAL, ‘MOUNTAIN MONSTERS: A TRIBUTE TO TRAPPER,’ ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 3 AT 10 P.M. ET/PT
SEASON FIVE OF ‘MOUNTAIN MONSTERS’ CONTINUES TRAPPER’S LEGACY ON A NEW WILD ADVENTURE BEGINNING ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 10 AT 10 P.M. ET/PT
John Tice, affectionally known as “Trapper,” was the founder and leader of the Appalachian Investigations of Mysterious Sightings team (AIMS) that gave rise to the cult-classic series “Mountain Monster.” Sadly, Trapper passed away in December 2019, after a prolonged illness. “Mountain Monsters: A Tribute to Trapper,” premiering on Sunday, January 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, pays tribute to Tice, with the AIMS team sharing their favorite memories and moments with him over the years as they investigated cryptids throughout the woods of Appalachia.
The surviving members meet up for the first time after Trapper’s passing to discuss the team’s future and embark on adventures during seven one-hour episodes and a two-hour season finale of Season Five of “Mountain Monsters,” premiering on Sunday, January 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The AIMS team reads a personal letter from Trapper and heads out on a brand new adventure that he set up for them before he passed. Equipped with his personal journal filled with everything he ever learned about the woods, the team travels to the mountains of the Tygart Valley on a mission to prove that there are still wolves in West Virginia. A bounty put on them, and the last wolf was said to have been killed in 1900. The team encounters local farmers who tell of a dangerous predator that has been killing their livestock. The team soon believes that not only are there wolves in the Tygart Valley, but there is something much more mysterious and deadly.
“After the tragic loss of Trapper, we recognized the importance of finding a way to celebrate his life with our AIMS-obsessed fans and then continue his mission,” says Matthew Butler, general manager, Travel Channel. “What makes the new season so special is that the squad was eager to carry on Trapper’s legacy and head back to the forest, set on following his life’s work including intense hunts, thrilling twists and hillbilly hilarity.”
Throughout the season, the team learns from locals of massive K9 cryptids with glowing red eyes that inhabit the land and are known by locals as Smoke Wolves. As they dig deeper, they realize that Trapper in fact knew about these creatures back in the 1970s. The team spends time trying to figure out if this is what Trapper meant about the wolves of West Virginia. Then, to add to the monster fun, the team realizes there is a Bigfoot lurking, terrorizing the area as well.
By the end of the season, the team understands why Trapper sent them to the Tygart Valley. They come full circle as Trapper’s daughter is filled in on their incredible findings. And Huckleberry has a Bigfoot surprise for the ages in a twist ending no one sees coming.

I look forward to watching it every week wether the monsters exist or not I still love watching the show. It’s an interesting show and I hope it continues for many more seasons.
I've been watching Mountain Monsters for the past few years and love it! Season 8 has been the best by far. I've been on the edge of my seat every week. I truly believe there are monsters out there. The way they get info from the eyewitnesses and even real footage. I hope there's many more seasons to come. I would love to hang out around the campfire with them. They are hysterical!
I thoroughly enjoy watching mountain monsters.
Love the show so much. Can't wait to see more.
Please bring this show back for some more seasons I like to escape from the violence of most of the shows these days and the Mountain Monsters is my go to show to do just that sure they have guns but how often do they shoot them it’s just good clean fun and definitely worth the watch and worth renewing !!!

I enjoy the show. It keeps the imagination flowing weather the creatures exist or not. That’s what the movies are for. Don’t leave fans wondering what happens next. Much more is yet to be discovered. Looking forward to new season.

It is one of the best shows on TV. I watch it every Sunday never miss an episode. Keep up the great work. And tell wild Bill he might won't to invest in a cup for those electric fences.
I hope the show is renewed! I really enjoy it. The guys are great. They take us on such exciting adventures & give us plenty of laughs. It would be a shame to cancel a show that has remained high in ratings since it 1st aired in 2013.

I love this show so much, especially when they make the traps. I love the designs that willy comes up with. Please bring the show back. My mom and I love it so much
I thoroughly enjoy "Mountain Monsters" and the exploits of the AIMS team. Have watched the series from the first season and am very much looking forward to Season 9! It is clear that the warm fellowship of the principal members — Trapper, Buck, Huckleberry, Willy, Bill and Jeff — is the central pull of "Mountain Monsters". While eerie cryptid mysteries in the Appalachia region are thoroughly exciting, we — the audience — return year after year to follow the deep friendship of these immensely likeable people. Caring, funny and intensely loyal, this brotherhood is a template for the kind of bond every human being hopes to form with others. With much of the entertainment industry's offerings awash in extreme violence and nihilism, "Mountain Monsters" remains a refreshing sanctuary for so many. That all being said, I really want to learn more about the eerie doings in the Tygart Valley!
My daughter and I have been hooked since we first saw the show back in 2015, I even have a mug from the show that said "whos hunting whom" I just wish there would be closure to some of them, what happened to spearfinger, where is the rouge team now, will we find out what the pathfinder is about and why 3 different monsters are in the same place. Looks to me we need season 9, and maybe more.
Can't wait for season 9. This is my son's favorite and my favorite show. We watch it together every time it comes on. Hope they make many more seasons
I look forward to Mountain Monsters. Please continue to renew this show. More advertising would help. I know there are a lot of viewers who would watch if they knew about it.
