Lucky Dog Season 9 Release Date Confirmed
Lucky Dog Season 9
Was Lucky Dog cancelled or renewed for season 9? When does it start on CBS? Who will be returning for the new season? In this post, we have summarized everything we know so far about the next season.
What Is Lucky Dog About?
Shelter dogs are rescued, trained and placed in new forever homes.
Animal trainers rescue difficult-to-love and untrained dogs that find themselves at the neighborhood animal shelter. The trainers then tackle the involved task of transforming dogs with behavioral issues into model pets, using sound training methods that viewers can use at home to train their own dogs. Each episode showcases the story of the success story of a rehabilitated dog and the family that takes it home.
Animal trainer Brandon McMillan’s mission is to rescue difficult-to-love and untrained dogs that find themselves at the neighborhood animal shelter, his home away from home. At McMillan’s training facility, Lucky Dog Ranch, he tackles the involved task of transforming dogs with behavioral issues into model pets. Each episode showcases the story of the success story of a rehabilitated dog and the family that takes it home.
Why Brandon McMillan left Lucky Dog?
He cited his reasons for leaving as the show dynamic changing from showcasing his “passion for saving dogs and training them for a purpose” to something more corporate-driven. “As the years went on big money started pouring into the show which meant more cooks in the kitchen making decisions.” wrote Brandon. The last episode of the series was released on February 13, 2021 in the US.

Please bring back Brandon McMillan on Lucky Dog. These other hosts don't even compare to Brandon. Because of this change & watching half a dozens of Season 8, my wife & I were so disguster with the new hosts, we stopped watching Lucky Dog altogether.
I watched Lucky Dog faithfully with Brandon. Totally lost interest with the new couple. Please renew and bring Brandon back. If it's not broken, don't try to change or fix it.
Want more viewers bring Brandon back guess I'll never understand how y'all could let him get away.
Lucky Dog has a different taste to it now …both are great. My dogs and I look forward to each Saturday morning!
Please keep the show alive.
Really miss Brandon, as he WAS Lucky Dog!
NO Brandon…
NO Watch…
He is the reason why I watch this show! Love his BIG heart❣️
It's time for CBS to step up and make Lucky Dog like it was with Brandon. The dogs are the important part of the show, not the corporate interference. There must be some way to convince Brandon to do the show that he made so popular!!!
Brandon and his heart are the reason I watch the show .the new people on it have no clue as to what they are doing
We used to watch Brandon McMillan every Saturday morning and learned so much from him. We tried watching the new people but they leave us cold. If Brandon is not going to return you can forget about us watching that show. Please cancel it. Brandon or nobody.
Lucky Dog is a great show- it should also be aired during the week- I am an adult by many years but love watching a heartfelt show that makes a person feel good.
I LOVE watching Lucky Dog on Saturday morning. Although I do miss Brandon McMillan, I have grown fond of the new hosts, Eric and Rashi Wiese. Although their training style is quite different from Brandon's, they have the same goal, to train and find a loving home for the dogs. They've had some mighty BIG shoes to fill, and they're doing a very good job.
Love the show. I hope it comes back
Although it's a totally different show without Brandon, I hope it's not cancelled because I love the dogs. The new hosts seem to be struggling with the format forced upon them. If the producers would put the focus back on the dogs rather than products and give Eric/Rashi an opportunity to satisfy the audience rather than the sponsor, the show could regain its popularity. New writers are needed who have a fresh approach. Get rid of Lucky Dog Ranch references since it's Brandon's ranch not the shows'. Also, need better camera work that deemphasizes Eric's towering height and huge feet/ugly boots. Focus on dogs and adoptive families not hosts. Also, follow up on how dogs are doing after awhile in their new homes.
Once Brandon left Lucky Dog, so did I. Although I did give the new show one chance, it sure wasn't worth a second. Brandon brought real heartfelt viewing. After Brandon, it seemed to me to be just a couple in it for themselves, not for the careful uniting of homeless dogs with forever homes. It just…lost heart. As well as myself as a viewer who had been recommending Brandon to everyone I knew. And often to others I didn't know but just got into random conversations with. Either bring back Brandon, change the name of his show, or better yet, cancel it totally!
I learned so much about training dogs through Brandon and enjoyed his personality in regard to training dogs. I rarely watch the show now with the two new co-hosts, although gave it a chance. The show feels hokey with the “sparkle flare” when a dog earns a training goal
I have watched Lucky Dog faithfully to watch Brandon interact, teach, and touch many dogs and people with his calming manner and real knowledge about dogs and training. The new hosts are very nice to step up to fill Brandon’s shoes but they don’t fit. I can’t watch anymore. Bring back the show with Brandon. Please.
Simple math folks:
Dogs in need + Brandon = Lucky Dog Show
Not:
2 hokie hosts + dogs who still need Brandon = CBS FAILING!
I used to be excited to get up on Saturday morning to watch Lucky Dog! I felt so good by the end of the show seeing how much Brandon McMillan cared about each dog, their prospective owners, as well as all of their needs. It really did my heart and attitude good!! After watching the new show three times, I quit altogether. Brandon offered such a positive, caring and feeling educational experience that was so inspiring and necessary in this crazy world we live in. We truly need Brandon as the host of this show!
I started watching Lucky Dog a few months ago and thought it was cute, mainly because I love dogs. My DVR recorded one with Brandon and it was kind of confusing. Same ranch, almost the same wording but I realized that Brandon's was the original one. Watching him goes from a really good show to the new host's "cute" one. But I still love the dogs.
I love the new version of Lucky Dog. I love his approach to training and his obvious love for animals . Please, please, please do not cancel this show.
Please keep Lucky Dog…I miss Brandon but can’t live without the show❤️????
I LOVE the new hosts on Lucky Dog. I liked Brandon and learned some, but I like the softer energy of these two. I also LOVE calling them the 7 CUES, rather than COMMANDS. I learned just today some new ways of coaching the DOWN cue.
Initially I was very disappointed that Brandon had left the show. But Eric and Rashi have grown on me. Please keep the show going. I am a 70 yr. old grandmother and lifelong dog lover. We still have our nearly 15 year old rescue dog. After saying goodbye to Millie Lucky Dog will help repair the hole in my heart.
I really love the stories and although it took a little bit to adjust to the new hosts, I love them now. They really love the dogs and care about the families. It would be nice to have a little more about how the dogs are doing after adoption. The product plugs are annoying but maybe necessary to fund the show so I'll put up with them to get to see the show. I am trying to learn how to train my dog and watching Eric helps. Love the happy endings, we don't have enough of that on TV these days. Please renew the show!
I liked Brandon, but I also like Eric and Rashi. The fact is the show is getting better and better as they continue. It is about saving a dog's life, and I feel that they both show that desire. I have learned many things from Eric. Brandon made a decision, and I loved him on the show; but I think Eric and Rashi do a fanastic job. I pray you continue Lucky Dog series.
I just can't watch the 'new' Lucky Dog. They should have changed it all when they changed the host.
I now watch Brandon on his YouTube channel. He WAS Lucky Dog!
I honestly dislike the new hosts. Between Brandon and the dogs he helped, we saw heart and soul. He was and still is fabulous. You cancel the show, no loss. I don’t watch it anymore without Brandon on it.
Eric isn't exactly a welcomed neighbor where he lives. He has taken over the whole street like he owns the joint and his so-called dog training has mountains of teens and 20-something's constantly coming and going for weekly events at his house. He has turned his home into a business, even though he is not zoned or licensed to run a business there. Please get this guy off
Brandon McMillan made Lucky Dog. The new couple is just so so. Brandon please come back. Big mistake to let him go.
Of course we miss Brandon, for many reasons. I wanted to like this new version but cannot for these reasons: 1) it is so formulaic that it feels like a rerun every week. 2) we are not taught any ways to deal with difficult dog issues. Each week Brandon used to show us new things and better ways to interact with our own animals. The new program ignores this in its formula. 3) The two Hosts are nice but certainly don't have the charisma of Brandon. I doubt that he will be back because of his principles but I'd almost rather see this whole program be canceled because it ain't the same…
