What Is Homestead Rescue About?
It's time to get back to work! The Raney family is traveling across the country to save families and their beloved homesteads from the brink of failure. From a simple solar power fix to allow a family to sleep soundly indoors again, to building location-specific greenhouses and gardens to supply food year-round, the Raneys are gearing up for big builds, life changing rescues and some serious lessons in homesteading 101 in an all-new season of HOMESTEAD RESCUE.
In the season premiere, Marty, the patriarch of the family and author of “Homestead Survival: An Insider’s Guide to Your Great Escape” (TarcherPerigee September 2022), attempts to help a family in Wyoming resurrect an inherited homestead with a tragic legacy, while unraveling the mystery of an unfinished well. In one of their most creative builds yet, Misty combines a one-of-a-kind aquaponic greenhouse and with a new duck sanctuary built by Matt, for an inventive “duckaponics” system.
Other stories this season include rescuing millennial homesteaders in Idaho from a crumbling mountainside threatening to crush their cabin; responding to a family unprepared for the looming brutal winter on 300 acres in Alaska’s remote Delta Junction; traveling to rural Virginia where new homesteaders struggle to survive on their 11 acres with a failing garden, inadequate water catchment and no shelter, aside from an old school bus they currently call home; and traveling to Washington State where, for the first time ever, the Raney family arrives too late to save a homestead’s crumbling cabin ahead of the fast-approaching winter.

One of the most enjoyable “reality” shows on the air. Have learned a lot from the Raneys over the years even though we are not off grid. Bring it back!!!

Love this show!! Remarkable seeing them help these people and there are a few that don't like what the Raney's bring to the table but they slowly come around, some just act as though the Raney's are coming in and taking over when it was THEM that asked the Raney's to come and help their homestead! Just makes me wonder how the Raney's put up with some of them. Bring back the show!! I love their ways of fixing the problems.

I dont live off grid, but because of this show we are more likely to survive should we be without power for an extended period of time, what ever the reason. We have live stock, and a hand pump that could not only supply us with clean water but our neighbors as well. We also grow our own food. Currently I'm looking for the best place to put a green house. Please keep up the GOOD WORK…we all benefit from this show.

I think we learn as we go thru life if Marty made remarks that offended someone it does not reflect him of today. I see him as a man that cares about family and the public well-being. I am sure he is sorry for the song and on the other hand some peoples skin is awfully thin. Give us a break let him apologize and let him go back to work.

This show is truly a very unique and genuine one at that, Love to watch and learn but as much as the world is changing more and more people are going back to the old way of homesteading . I found Homestead Rescue on Amazon Prime and became addicted immediately. I am a partial "homesteader" living only 1.5 miles from a well stocked town and surrounded by 100's of Horse & Buggy Mennonites, similar to the Amish. Being a raw food vegetarian, there is no need to hunt or fish. However when it comes to Solar and Gardening I need all the help I can get. The Raney's are a Blessing!!
