What Is Chicago Fire About?

This series revolves around the personal and professional lives of the firefighters, rescue squad, and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. Captain Matthew Casey (Spencer) leads the Truck Company, brash Lt. Kelly Severide (Kinney) runs the Rescue Squad, and Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) is the veteran chief of 51. The professionals risk their lives week in and week out to save and protect the citizens of Windy City.

Following another Premiere Week win and a strong fall, NBC heads into 2025 with the launch of new dramas, including the highly anticipated “Suits LA” from creator Aaron Korsh; “The Hunting Party,” starring Melissa Roxburgh (“Manifest”); and “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” a soapy mystery from Jenny Bans and Bill Krebs, as well as the launch of the spectacular new 10-part special event nature documentary “The Americas,” narrated by Tom Hanks with music by Oscar winner Hans Zimmer.

Returning to the NBC lineup, to the excitement of its immense fan base, is #OneChicago, TV’s highest-rated drama franchise. The Windy City trifecta begins Wednesday, Jan. 8 with “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m., following by “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.”

— Crossover Event

A three-part #OneChicago crossover event is set to air on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

· Shifting the traditional #OneChicago show order, “Chicago Fire” will kick things off at 8 p.m., followed by “Chicago Med” at 9 p.m. and concluding with “Chicago P.D.” at 10 p.m.

· This represents the first #OneChicago crossover since 2019.

· Logline: When a gas explosion rocks a high-rise, Chicago’s first responders come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It’s the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends our heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own.

· “Putting together what is essentially a three-hour action movie is an incredibly ambitious task requiring complete coordination across our writers, casts, crews and producers, along with help from the city of Chicago,” said Anastasia Puglisi, Wolf Entertainment Executive Vice President and co-executive producer of the #OneChicago series. “We’re thrilled to have the best talent in every department to meet this challenge, reinforce the #OneChicago brand, and provide our fans with a unique and compelling viewing experience.”

· “Chicago Med” stars S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, Steven Weber, Marlyne Barrett, Jessy Schram, Luke Mitchell, Sarah Ramos and Darren Barnet. Executive producers are Dick Wolf, Allen MacDonald, Stephen Hootstein and Peter Jankowski.

· “Chicago Fire” stars Taylor Kinney, Dermot Mulroney, David Eigenberg, Miranda Rae Mayo, Joe Miñoso, Christian Stolte, Daniel Kyri, Hanako Greensmith, Jake Lockett and Jocelyn Hudon. Executive producers are Dick Wolf, Andrea Newman, Reza Tabrizi, Matt Whitney and Peter Jankowski.

· “Chicago P.D.” stars Jason Beghe, Patrick John Flueger, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton, Benjamin, Levy Aguilar and Toya Turner. Executive producers are Dick Wolf, Gwen Sigan, Rick Eid, Chad Saxton, Gavin Harris, Jason Beghe and Peter Jankowski.

· All three series are produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment.
