What Is Chad About?
Chad is an American sitcom created by Nasim Pedrad, who also stars as the titular role in the series. A 14-year-old Persian boy desperately tries to fit in, cope with his mother's dating life, and figure out his cultural identity.
Returning cast for season two will include Jake Ryan as Peter; Paul Chahidi as Uncle Hamid; Saba Homayoon as Naz, Chad’s mother; Ella Mika as Chad’s sister, Niki; Alexa Loo as Denise; and Thomas Barbusca as Reid. Sara Malal Rowe has also been added to the lineup this season.
A 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy (Nasim Pedrad) navigates his first year of high school on a mission to become popular. Chad’s friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids, while enduring his mother’s new dating life and reconciling with his cultural identity. Pedrad, who first made her mark on “Saturday Night Live,” is also creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner.
Pedrad is creator, executive producer and showrunner on “Chad.” Oly Obst (3 Arts) also serves as executive producer, along with Rob Rosell who co-developed the series with Pedrad. Max Searle has been tapped as co-showrunner for the second season with Pedrad.
